While we might be counting our pennies lately, thanks to a rough economy, that doesn't mean we've stopped eating out. What it does mean, however, is that we are doing so less often. Multiply that by everyone that used to fill up neighborhood eateries each night of the week, and you can probably understand why many once-popular dining establishments are now closed. Those trying to remain open until the economic tide turns, are doing everything from redecorating to cutting prices, all trying to be the place we choose when we go out for a nice dinner. While spending money on new restaurant furniture is bit of a gamble, many eatery owners are finding it pays off.

While a great table, comfortable chairs and friendly smiles won't make up for lousy food or poor service, it does earn points. So, if you're in competition with other restaurants whose food quality and service performance is similar to yours, you need something to set yourself apart. That's where spending money on redecorating comes into the picture. Let's face it. If three restaurants are serving very similar food at nearly identical prices, why do we pick the one we do? We will pick the one that provides us with the most attractive and comfortable atmosphere in which to enjoy our meal. It's as simple as that.
